Applying for a Foundation Grant

Grant applications must demonstrate clear alignment with the key strategies of both the WA Museum and the Foundation for the WA Museum. Funding may support several projects or one exceptional project each year, with grants awarded to deliver the greatest impact for the WA Museum and the communities it serves.

Ready to apply?

Before starting your application, please read the Grant Program Guidelines and Standard Grant Conditions, and obtain the required endorsements.

Grant Application Process

Before starting your application, please read the Grant Program Guidelines and Standard Grant Conditions. These documents outline eligibility, funding requirements and your responsibilities, helping you understand what is required before progressing with your application.

Your next step is to complete the online endorsement form for approval by the relevant WA Museum representatives. Once all endorsements are received, you will be notified that you can proceed with your SmartyGrants application.

Once your endorsement is approved, complete and submit your grant application through SmartyGrants. You will receive a confirmation email with your application number. Please keep this number as your reference for all future grant communication.

Once your grant is approved, you will receive an email confirming the funding amount and any conditions. The WA Museum CEO will sign the Grant Agreement, and you will be notified when your project can commence.

Keep your grant on track by following approved timelines and advising the Grants Team of any changes within 10 working days. Progress reports are required every six months, with final acquittal due after project completion.

Within 30 days of project completion, submit your final acquittal outlining the outcomes and impact achieved. All final claims must be submitted before closure. You may also be invited to share your project’s success with our donors.
