The intrepid Shipwreck Hunters Australia team is back with a new season of six more missions, streaming exclusively on Disney+.

Join the daring crew of ocean adventurers to hear about their trips to some of the most stunning spots along Western Australia’s coastline, uncovering fascinating stories from the past and making exciting new discoveries beneath the waves! They're curious about shipwrecks, love the wonders of nature, and are always on the lookout for hidden secrets of the sea.

How do they get ready for these big adventures? What amazing things have they found? And what funny or surprising moments didn’t make it into Season 2?

Shipwreck Hunters Ryan Chatfield, Johnny Debnam, and Andre Rerekura - along with maritime archaeologists Dr Deb Shefi and Dr Ross Anderson from the WA Museum - will share their thrilling experiences, their passion for the ocean, and what it really takes to become a shipwreck hunter.

They’ll also bring along some of the gear they use for diving and on their missions for an exciting show-and-tell. And of course, you’ll get the chance to ask them all your curious questions!

This event is perfect for families and kids aged 6 and up.

About the Speakers

Ryan Chatfield

Shipwreck Hunter, dive leader, underwater camera & photographer

Ryan has worked in and around the ocean ever since he finished school. Whether on epic missions in raging seas or snorkelling shallow waters with his kids, for Ryan, the ocean is where he feels most at home.
With a background as a commercial deep-sea diver, Ryan fell in love with the incredible ocean wildlife he was sharing the water with and began to capture those moments on camera. Now known as a highly successful, multi-disciplined photographer and camera operator, Ryan is always looking for an adventure, especially when it involves a shipwreck.

Andre Rerekura

Shipwreck Hunter, diver, waterman & underwater camera & photographer

Andre has carved out an incredible career as one of Australia’s top underwater cinematographers, who is willing to go into places and situations many wouldn’t. A highly qualified deep sea diver and incredible open water free diver, Andre couples these skills with his ability to predict wildlife behaviour and be in the right moment at the right time with his high-end underwater camera equipment. Born in New Zealand, but having lived in Western Australia most of his life, Andre calls the magic north west coast home, where he hits the water every single day and sets off on missions all over Australia and around the world, filming wildlife and searching for shipwrecks.

Johnny Debnam

Shipwreck Hunter, diver, engineer, maritime researcher

Johnny loves all things ocean-based, with his curiosity and passion for historical research pushing the Shipwreck Hunters team to strive for more epic discoveries. Johnny began his professional career as a highly trained commercial diver, and over the past decade, he has embraced video production and storytelling. Johnny believes that the beauty and rawness of the ocean can teach us a lot about ourselves, and as a proud family man with a focus on building strong mental health, he wants to share the joy of the underwater world with everyone through captivating real-life stories of shipwrecks and the wonder of ocean wildlife.

Dr Ross Anderson
