An Evening with Olympian Matt Wearn at Royal Perth Yacht Club

The Foundation for the WA Museum is delighted to invite you to a special evening hosted by the Royal Perth Yacht Club in celebration of the WA Museum’s recent acquisition of Matt Wearn’s ILCA 7 Laser dinghy.

This important addition to Western Australia’s sporting heritage and our state collection was made possible by a grant from the Foundation. Thanks to our generous donors for their support of our Discovery Endowment Fund.

Join us on 15 January 2026 for an informal and engaging evening with two-time, Olympic gold medallist Matt Wearn, who will share insights into his sailing journey, the stories behind his iconic vessel, and the significance of its preservation within the WA Museum’s collection.

Hosted by the Royal Perth Yacht Club, this intimate event will feature a relaxed Q+A session with Matt, offering guests a unique opportunity to hear Matt's story firsthand and see his ILCA 7 Laser dinghy.
