The Goldfields Bush Cooking Competition wants to hear your story.
Share a recipe using local bush ingredients, think wattleseed, quandong, saltbush or lemon myrtle, and you could be one of twelve winners, each taking home a five-hundred-dollar voucher.
The Goldfields Bush Cooking Competition is a celebration of local food, culture and community. Open to all Goldfields residents, the competition invites home cooks of all ages and experience levels to showcase recipes that highlight the unique bush ingredients of the Goldfields.
Whether it's a recipe that has been passed down through generations or a modern take on traditional bush foods, we want to see what makes it special. Every entry is an opportunity to share family traditions, celebrate cultural knowledge and inspire others to discover the rich culinary heritage of the Goldfields.
The competition will run from 22 July 2026 to 2 September 2026, with twelve outstanding winners each receiving a $500 voucher.
Winners will be announced on 10 September 2026.
Winner’s recipes will be published and shared on recipe cards available at WA Museum locations and through digital and social media channels.
