• The deadline for submissions to FameLab Australia 2021 have now been extended to Friday the 30th of April.
  • Take a look at the above linked document to check your eligibility to compete
  • The video you submit with your submission is not going to be used in the competition itself, it is just for the submission, no fancy editing necessary! This is just to show us that you can communicate your research clearly.
  • You will find out whether you have made it into your state semi-final by Tuesday the 11th of May.

  • Semi-finals will be held online live to judges, via Zoom from 6.30pm-8.30pm (dates below).
  • On the day of the semi-final, you will be invited to join a technical check (at around lunch time) so that you can test your internet connection and to make sure you are comfortable and ready for your semi-final.
  • The 3 judges will be prestigious leaders from your state in either in science or media and they will ask you 2 questions after your presentation. You will not be judged on your answers to these questions.
  • There will be a Winner, Runner-up and Wildcard awarded for each semi-final, chosen by the judges. They are looking for 3 key things, “the three C’s” – Content, Clarity and Charisma, in 3 minutes. There is also an Audience Choice prize rewarded for each semi-final and the voting will be open to the public for 3 days after your semi-final.
