Hi everyone,
As we are facing an unprecedented time for all of us, it is understandable that we are feeling uncertain about what lies ahead. While the situation changes daily I want to assure you that we are working as an incredibly committed and resourceful team at the Foundation and are intending to keep you, our donors, partners and supporters up to date with what the Foundation is addressing on a daily basis.
The Foundation is working with the WA Museum to make sure that you are kept updated with closures, accomplishments and which regional sites will remain open or will close. The Foundation Team is now working from home and has quickly established online services and we remain excited and committed for the opening of the new WA Museum in November. We have postponed all our donor events which had been scheduled through to June 2020 in order to minimise public health risks from COVID-19.
Naturally with the Foundation Team working from home we are readily available to you by phone and email so please don’t hesitate to contact us if we can be of any assistance or if you just have a query or need to socially connect, we would be happy to hear from you. It is a time when we as a community are pulling together to support one another whether in big, medium or small business – as our Prime Minister and our WA Premier have stated many times, “we are all in this together and kindness, caring and looking out for one another” has to be part of our daily lives during the risks around COVID-19.
From time to time, I will keep you up to date and our Foundation team will be posting on social mediums and on our website to keep you informed about various projects we have happening at the moment. For instance, many of you will have attended FameLab with your children each year: this year we have gone totally digital and have been able to ensure that all National contestants were linked in throughout Australia. From today, 01 April, the general public are also able to look on line to see which finalists in each of the States have been successful, so please make sure you keep up with our social media and check out our website to see the fantastic stories over the next month that all relate to the global FameLab science competition. Semi-final dates are up on our website so you can choose which State to check out! The National Final will take place on Wednesday 29 April.
It remains for me to thank you again for your support and to encourage you to stay in touch with us. On behalf of my Team and I, we ask you to stay safe, healthy and connected whilst we work through these difficult times together.
If you would like to contact me personally with questions or ideas, you can reach me at [email protected]
Warm regards,
Jenny
